Is Dr. Joseph Rota the best Colorado Springs dentist? There is no objective way to measure the best Colorado Springs dentist, so we can't make that claim. But no other dentist in Colorado has won eight medals in the International Smile Gallery competition of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. In fact, we aren't aware of any other Colorado dentist who has won any medals in this competition.

From 1995 until 2007, the AACD conducted this competition at its annual meetings. Dentists would submit photographs of their work in various categories. All personally identifiable information was removed from the photographs, and the cases were judged by a panel of internationally respected cosmetic dentists, on their artistic quality. In 2007, Dr. Rota decided that he would try his hand at this competition. He submitted ten cases and walked away with eight medals, including a "best of show" in one category and a "people's choice" in another.
