Restorations with

CEREC

CAD/CAM

Systems

Most dental restorative methods require more than one visit to the dentist. The Rota & Smith Dental Center uses the technology of CEREC—a superior method of creating precisely-designed, color-matched, and highly durable ceramic restorations—all in a single appointment.

A CEREC tooth restoration isn't just convenient—it's also esthetically pleasing.  Many years ago, dentists had very few options to repair decayed and damaged teeth other than amalgam, gold, and other metals.  With CEREC technology, Drs. Rota and Smith are able to use strong, tooth-colored ceramic materials to restore your teeth to their natural strength, beauty, and function.  These materials closely match the composition of your natural tooth structure.

After examining the tooth and determining the course of treatment, we will prepare your tooth for restoration, similarly to traditional treatment methods. Your prepared tooth will be coated with a safe, tasteless powder. CEREC then uses state-of-the-art digital 3D camera to create an optical impression. This digital image replaces the physical impressions required in traditional procedures.

State-of-the-art CAD software allows us to design every precise detail of your restoration with the accuracy you've come to expect from us. The software allows us to customize the shape of the restoration to exactly fit your specific needs. While you enjoy a movie or time in the massage chair, exact design specifications are sent to our on-site milling machine to create your restoration. In 15-20 minutes, your all-ceramic, color-matched restoration is completed, and it will be fitted, polished, and bonded to your existing tooth structure.
